About the event
Amidst the strict moral and social values of Victorian society, blackmail, corruption, love and politics collide in the lives of Lord and Lady Chiltern. Their lives seem perfectly ideal... that is, until the allusive Laura Cheveley turns up. At the height of political acclaim, an uncovered lie throws the Chilterns' very public lives into disarray, and, within 24 hours, we learn of the true nature of Lord Chiltern and those around him.
"Sooner or later, we shall all have to pay for what we do" said Wilde about 'An Ideal Husband'. It is one of his finest works, filled with comedy and satire.
